More that 3 000 .eu domain names have already passed the validation procedure and been activated, many of them are already used for web sites and email.

To date, EURid has received almost 300 000 applications for about 217 000 unique domain names during Sunrise. After the Sunrise period, from April 7 and onwards , EURid expects the numbers to grow considerably when it becomes possible for anyone within the European Union to register any available domain name.
